proud moment

Wiley likes to pull books off the shelf and pretend to read them; books like, Finnegans Wake, The Sound and the Fury, etc. Yesterday he pulled down Bastard Out of Carolina and asked me to read it. I told Wiley that it was a sad book and he went, 'waa waa.' I guess because I work with kids all day long who have difficulty connecting emotions and expressing feelings I was quite impressed with Wiley's understanding of crying and being sad.
