well, archer's kidney's are fine. and he seems to be fine, too, after the worst experience. Me, on the other hand, I can't get the picture of him screaming in fear and pain out of my head and his eyes just looking at me begging for it all to stop. They had to strap him down to a papoose board which is a wooden board about 8 inches wide, it was some shit. They wrapped a receiving blanket around his knees then used tape over the blanket to tape him to the board. Then they wrapped a blanket around his stomach and taped him down to the board. Then, this is when I had to walk away and when I started to cry, they took his arms and pulled them up over his head and taped them to the board. It was so horrible and they hadn't even started. He just screamed and cried and there was nothing I could do. Then they cathetered him, which took forever and took more than one try. Then they filled his bladder with some fluid that would show up on x-rays and kept him strapped to the board while the x-ray machine came down and enclosed him in a little space so all i could do was pat his face. really awful stuff. he calmed down after a while, but the doctors started talking and "missed" it when he emptied his bladder. so they had to fill him up again. then archer wouldn't pee the second time so they had to pour water on him until he peed.
i'm glad he's ok, but now i'm just so mad anticipating the bill. if you recall we paid $500 for wiley's allergy appt. and that was a few needle pricks on his back. This was x-rays! and an ultrasound (not traumatic, also normal findings).
